What Is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy starts with a goal. Whether you're working through injury, managing anxiety, or simply wanting to deepen your understanding of yoga and its practices, your journey begins with intention.

At B Well Yoga Therapy, your therapist works alongside you to create a fully personalized plan — with tools, practices, and self-study resources tailored to your specific needs. Together, you'll take small, meaningful steps toward measurable well-being.

Sessions are conducted virtually, with in-person options available by mutual agreement.

About Me

Hi I’m Brenna!

As a yoga therapist and instructor based in Milwaukee, movement has always been a part of my life. From my early tee-ball days to playing every sport imaginable growing up, I’ve always felt most at home when I was active and connected to my body.

My relationship with yoga began after experiencing a severe back injury and later deepened during each yoga training I undertook. At first, I was drawn to how good the movement made my body feel. But what surprised me most was the effect yoga had on my mind — the sense of calm, quiet, and grounding I felt through movement and breath work. Yoga became more than exercise; it became a way to reconnect with myself physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I began teaching group yoga classes in 2017 while also being a stay-at-home mom. Since then, my path has continued to grow through both education and experience. As a lifelong learner, I’m always seeking opportunities to deepen my understanding and better support the people I work with.

Common Questions

Yes. Yoga therapy is designed to complement your existing medical care, not replace it. It is especially well-suited for those dealing with chronic pain, injury recovery, anxiety, depression, and other health challenges. Your therapist will work within your current capabilities and consult with your healthcare team as needed.
Absolutely. Most sessions are conducted virtually, which means you can practice in the comfort and safety of your own home — no commute, no intimidating studio environment. Many clients find the familiar setting actually helps them relax and engage more deeply. In-person sessions can also be arranged by mutual agreement.
Not at all. Yoga therapy is not a fitness class — it is a personalized, therapeutic practice. Whether you have never tried yoga or have practiced for years, your sessions will be tailored entirely to your current level, physical condition, and goals.
Sessions are typically one hour. Between sessions, your therapist will provide self-study tools and home practices that fit your schedule. Even a few minutes of daily practice can yield meaningful results over time — consistency matters far more than duration.
A yoga class is designed for a group and follows a general format. Yoga therapy is one-on-one and entirely personalized to your specific health goals. Your therapist assesses your needs, designs your practice, tracks your progress, and adjusts the plan as you evolve — much like working with a physical therapist, but through the lens of yoga.
